We leave a tool out when its official page doesn't state the rule clearly (read 2026-10-27):
FAQ
Can I get a refund on ChatGPT Plus?
Payments are generally non-refundable, but OpenAI says a discretionary refund may be available for an unused individual subscription if you ask within seven days of the charge, through the Help Center chat. In the EU, UK and Turkey you get a prorated refund if you cancel within 14 days. Read 2026-10-27.
Can I get a refund on Claude Pro?
Anthropic says all payments are non-refundable except where its Consumer Terms or the law say otherwise. You can check eligibility under Get help → Send us a message → Claude Refund Request. EEA and UK users can get a refund within 14 days, reduced for use. Read 2026-10-27.
Which AI tools give refunds?
Of the 22 tools we checked on 2026-10-27, 11 state a refund window or rule (for example Cursor and ElevenLabs: 14 days if unused; Runway: 30 days if unused or close to unused), 4 decide case by case, and 7 don't refund: Bolt, GitHub Copilot, Grammarly, Ideogram, Lovable, Otter, Synthesia.
Does cancelling give me my money back?
No. On every tool here, cancelling only stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. A refund is a separate request, usually to support, and most have a short window.
I paid in the iPhone app. Who refunds me?
Apple. App Store subscriptions are refunded and cancelled through Apple (Google Play for Android), not by the tool itself. Several help pages say this, including ChatGPT, Notion, Canva and Perplexity.
